Lance Allred, Episode 026
First Deaf Player in NBA History; Owner, L-Squared Productions; President, Manestream
Lance Allred, with his 5 Principles of Perseverance, is the first legally deaf player in NBA history. Known as “The Lion,” he is a Best-Selling Author of Basketball Godsand Longshot and is an expert on Leadership, Perseverance and Teamwork.
Born with 80% hearing-loss, within a polygamist commune in rural Montana, Lance grew up weaving through oppressive and abusive religious confines that saw him develop Obsessive-Compulsive Disorder in his formative years. Basketball became his haven. His family broke away from the religious sect when he was 14. Even though he’s a towering 6'11, his size didn’t keep people around him from trying to tell him what he could or couldn’t do. While most everyone in his life thought his hearing-loss would prevent him from playing collegiately, he succeeded, going on to play professionally, becoming the first deaf player in NBA history.
Today, after more than 10 years as a pro, Lance shares his first hand experience dealing with the pitfalls of teams and leadership across all cultures, sharing a background that allows him to bring a fresh perspective to achieving success and effective teamwork to any culture.
In his presentations, Lance shares memorable anecdotes of his jaw-dropping life experiences, the foundation for his teachings that help audiences gain honest and applicable skills in three areas of expertise: Leadership. Perseverance. Teamwork.
He’s a spiritual giant, working with teens to help them overcome bullying and depression to discover their own intrinsic value. Lance brings a powerful and commanding presence to meetings and conferences.
