Dan is the founder and CEO of ROC Investments LLC.
He started his career working for famed trader Joe Ritchie at Fox River Financial Resources, LLC in 1997. Under Mr. Ritchie’s mentorship he gained exposure to quantitative investing. He pioneered the firm's character investment strategy, creating a model to quantify the character and integrity of public company CEOs. He managed the portfolio for four years. Dan went on to found UNITY Development Group in 2013, a special purpose company seeking to build a railway from Dar es Salaam, Tanzania, to Kigali, Rwanda. Dan holds a Bachelor of Science in Political Science from Calvin University. He lives with his wife Elisabeth, and their two boys, Simon and Wesley, in Redding, CA.
ROC Investments LLC designed its investment strategy to roughly mirror market exposure, notably size, sector, and value of the largest 1000 U.S. companies, but only by investing in companies whose CEOs have shown evidence of exceptional character.
For the first time, investors can "buy the market" and be assured that their money will be allocated to companies whose leaders exhibit characteristics consistent with our definition of character, which was identified through extensive research: integrity, responsibility, forgiveness, and compassion.
