Carolyn Witte, CEO and Co-Founder of Tia, views it as her mission in life to fight healthcare inequalities women face. After experiencing her own set of health struggles and seeing how the healthcare system is not built for women, Carolyn started Tia to reimagine women’s healthcare from the ground up. In 2020, the company celebrated the first anniversary of the Tia Clinic, responsible for the healthcare of roughly 4,000 women in NYC, and began offering care virtually-first in Los Angeles 2020, with more physical locations to come in 2021. In response to the pandemic, Carolyn evolved Tia in-real-time to service the needs of Tia’s patients, Care Team and the NYC health system. Though an essential service, Tia temporarily closed the physical clinic for safety and to ensure supplies were preserved for frontline providers. She diverted Tia’s resources to launch a Virtual Care platform in just 5 days that included virtual covid screenings, antibody testing, behavioral health, and over 50 gynecology and primary care appointment types. Now, 70% of first-time Tia appointments are now virtual, more than 40% of Tia’s patients have used Tia’s virtual care offering, and their already standout NPS of 95 rose to 100 week over week. Amid the pandemic, Carolyn and her co-founder Felicity Yost also closed a $24.275 million Series A fundraise in March, the largest led by a female CEO in 2020.
