Asma Paigeer is a brave young woman who clearly symbolizes possibility to all Afghan women.

Raised without gender discrimination by her parents and having witnessed how her own mother was denied the right to graduate from university by the Taliban regime, Asma is perfectly aware of the importance of education and social change in Afghanistan.

Resilience describes her as a survivor to the Taliban regime and she values the second chance she has been given, currently living in the United States, to pursue her education as well as her interests which include reading and photography.

Reading novels, personal growth, and leadership books allows Asma to discover her true self as well as better ways to deal with life struggles, whereas photography provides a way to refresh memories and bring back happy emotions we once lived, especially with those who are gone.

In her own words “Sharing my story can evoke the consciousness of a generation which demands justice. There is always a bright day after every dark night, and there will be a period of development which flourishes when the Taliban reign ends in Afghanistan”.

Understanding the importance of education, Asma is interested in computer science, artificial intelligence and finance as she aims to develop a modern financial software system for Afghanistan to improve the primitive hawala system which basically enables corruption, tax evasion, money laundering, terrorism and human/drug trafficking.
